Meet Amber,
Amber is a delightful and loving cat who would make the perfect addition to any home, especially for first-time pet owners! She’s incredibly adaptable and comfortable in any household environment, though she may feel most at ease in a quieter setting where she can truly relax.
With her gentle nature and a touch of sensitivity, Amber is an affectionate girl who loves making new friends. She’s social, curious, and always ready to engage with you, whether it’s through playful interactions or simply keeping you company. She has a sweet and friendly personality, and she isn’t shy about letting you know how she feels - Amber enjoys chatting throughout the day, making sure you’re always in good company!
Amber is sweet & loving & is open to meet kids of any age. She likes to be picked up, carried & cuddled. She loves to be patted all over and loves her chin & ears being scratched.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure if Amber would be ok to live with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Amber could possibly live in a home with other cats, but the introduction should be slow & controlled - preferably over a few days - to ensure that they have the best chance of becoming friends. Amber seemed curious to meet other cats in the cattery.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Amber will be a little too sensitive for outside living. Plus, if she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside only cat she can be safe & sound & live her best life.
Amber has medium energy levels but she isn't too interested in playing with toys. She much prefers time spent with the staff so she can smooch them and roll around showing off how cute she is.
Amber is not fussy with her food either & she also likes treats! Currently her favourite are 'Temptations' treats.
Amber always uses her litter tray without any issues.
Staff Comments: Amber is quiet but affectionate. She's got a lovely curious streak but if she isn't sure about something you'll see her more reserved sensitive side. She's a sweet girl who can't wait to call you her new family.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
