Meet Betty Superstitious,

Betty is a gentle girl who can be a little nervous at times. She takes confidence from the reassurance of her carers. She was a little grumpy when first she came in, but that was noted to be connected to the matting of her fur. Which is why she is sporting a trendy hair cut - she was not well cared for on the streets & the matting was causing her a lot of discomfort. Since being clipped, she is much happier & eager to interact.

Betty Superstitious is a shy girl, but she is friendly, sweet & curious. Betty is best suited to experienced cat owners.

Betty would be the perfect addition to a calm & quiet home as she is a little sensitive to loud noises.

Betty Superstitious is open to meet kids from 10 years & up - this is due to her reserved personality & need for a quiet home. Betty is a soft & affectionate girl, who loves to engage with her human friends. She doesn't mind being picked up but you'll have to allow her to warm up to you first, so that she feels 100% confident. Patting her is a great way to boost her confidence & reassure her.

Betty loves her cheeks being scratched, often drooling with content & sheer happiness. She's also loving her back being scratched post hair cut.

As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Betty would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.

Unfortunately, Betty Superstitious is not suitable to live with cats.

We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Betty Superstitious may be a little too sensitive for outside living due to the noise. Plus, if she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside only cat she can be safe & sound & live her best life.

Betty has low energy needs, we rarely see her play. You'll often find Betty curled up in her bed or lining up for pats & cuddles.

Betty Superstitious is not fussy when it comes to food. She tends to graze through the day so you can free-feed her. Betty can be chatty on occasion, usually just to say hello when she sees you.

Betty always uses her litter tray but will need a larger tray, with high side walls or enclosed.

Staff Comments: Betty Superstitious is a very sweet, slightly shy girl. She needs a patient & understanding home with someone who will allow her to thrive in her own time.

Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
