Meet Taz,
Taz is a charming, confident boy with a heart full of love and a personality that's impossible to resist. With his friendly nature and affectionate ways, Taz is the kind of cat who will happily chat with you about his day, then curl up beside you for a well-earned nap (he can be a bit of a lazy bones sometimes!).
Gentle and independent, Taz is the purrfect mix of sociable and self-assured. He’s outgoing, playful in his own chill way, and always up for some engaging one-on-one time. He even knows his name — though he may sometimes pretend not to, just to keep things interesting (classic cat move!).
Taz is adaptable and would settle beautifully into just about any home. While he is suitable for first-time cat parents, he does have a few medical quirks, so a home with some feline experience could be a bonus. Regardless, what he really needs is a loving, understanding owner. If you're looking for a sweet, chatty, confident cat who will keep you company and fill your home with love and laughter, Taz might just be your perfect match.
Taz is open to meet kids of all ages - providing that they have been around cats before. Taz allows being picked up & loves to be patted & cuddled. Taz is very sweet and he loves affection. He loves to interact with you & is a very smoochy boy!
As we cannot test in this environment, we are not sure if Taz will be ok to live with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
As for cats, Taz isn't fussed. He's a cat that could live with other cats or be the sole feline of the home. When out exploring the cattery it has been observed that he will saunter up to other condos and interact with the cats behind the glass but he doesn't seem that invested or desperate to be friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Taz has already experienced the horrors of living outside and he's taken to be inside like a true champion. If he is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat he can be safe & live his best life possible.
Taz has low energy levels & doesn't appear to be that interested in toys - although a feather toy may catch his attention sometimes - but he's far too interested in loving you & giving you head bunts, purring and making biscuits.
Taz is not fussy with his food but he is needed to be fed dental biscuits to support his oral health.
Staff Comments: Taz knows his name & is a very sweet & affectionate boy. He loves to love & has so much of it to give. He will make someone very happy once adopted. A true gentleman which a big heart, soulful eyes & soft fur.

Medical: Taz has halitosis - which is a fancy word for bad breath. He has been fully check by the vet and deemed suitable for adoption. He has very early signs of gingivitis around his bottom incisors which is causing the halitosis. This can be managed by feeding him dental biscuits to support his oral health but in the future he will most likely need a scale & polish by a vet & possibly extraction much later on.
Post Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
