Project summary

Macarthur Recreation Trail is a long term vision for a key link that enhances liveability and community experience traversing Bow Bowing Creek and passing through a range of open spaces and threatened habitats, transport nodes and major town centres between Camden, The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan and Campbelltown Station.

To realise the vision, the Macarthur Recreation Trail Project aims to complete the missing links. Funding for this project will construct approximately 2.8km metres of new path including:

  • 1.42 kilometres through the Australian Botanic Garden where it links with shared use paths in the Camden Local Government Area.
  • 1.43 kilometres from Gilchrist Drive through Gilchrist Oval and Bow Bowing Creek to Farrow Road where it links with existing pathways to Campbelltown Train Station and CBD.

Project is estimated to be completed by end of 2027.

This project will be funded through the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.
