Local Government Elections - 14 September 2024

In the Campbelltown City Council area, voters will be electing 15 Councillors. These officials will represent our community and make decisions about our city's policies, services and important issues for the next four years.

As we get closer to the elections, we'll update this page with more details about how and where you can vote, becoming a Councillor, and finding information about candidates.

2024 NSW local government elections

Who has to vote?

If you are an Australian citizen aged 18 years or more, and live in the Campbelltown City Council area, you must vote in these elections. If you do not vote, you may receive a penalty notice. For more information about voting, see the FAQs on the NSW Electoral Commission website.

Voting in person before election day

Pre-poll voting is available from Saturday 7 September to Friday 13 September 2024 (excluding Sunday) for eligible electors at the following locations:

Postal voting

Postal vote applications are available on 6 August 2024. Electors can apply online via the NSW Electoral Commission website from this date. Postal vote applications close at 5.00pm on 9 September 2024.

    Extraordinary Council Meeting – Oath/Affirmation of Office, Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor followed by welcome function.
  • Tuesday 22 October 2024, 6.30pm
    Councillor induction session

  • Tuesday 29 October 2024, 6.30pm
    Ordinary Council Meeting  

 

Want to work at the Council election?

The 2024 election for Campbelltown City Council will be managed by the NSW Electoral Commission.

Applicants can work on the day (Saturday 14 September) in a polling place, or for longer periods in a returning office or in one of the pre-poll voting centres.
