Free Tree Giveaway
From June to October, Department of Planning are partnering with Bunnings Warehouse to make free trees available to Greater Sydney households. Each month a limited number of trees will be available via the NSW Planning Portal.
The giveaway is a fantastic opportunity to add some greenery to your home and help make your suburb an even more beautiful place to live. Planting more trees will provide more shade, more privacy and cleaner air. We are encouraging everyone to plant one.
National Tree Day
Hosted annually in late July, early August - residents are invited to join us and get planting on National Tree Day to help support our natural environment.
The day involves the community planting sessions and activities to care for native trees and shrubs to improve the area’s bushland reserves. National Tree Day started in 1996 and since then more than three million people have planted 23 million seedlings on this day.
Keep an eye out on our WhatsOn page for details.
Wild Koala Day

If you have a passion for the outdoors and growing plants and would love to pick up some new skills, then our Native Nursery at Home program is perfect for you. As part of this program you will learn how to gather, prepare and grow local native plant-seed to put back into the bush.
Our monthly workshops will look into the many different aspects of raising native plants, from gathering and storing local seed-stock to propagating seeds, including the proper care and maintenance of seedlings and the equipment required. You will also learn about the diverse native habitats of Campbelltown and why they are so important.
