Campbelltown residents are encouraged to recognise someone who has made a significant contribution in their community by nominating them for a 2025 Australia Day Award.

Nominations are open for the annual awards, which provide an opportunity to acknowledge local residents who have excelled academically or in the sporting arena, or have performed a great service to the community.

Community groups are also recognised for their contribution to the City of Campbelltown.

“The Australia Day Awards acknowledge residents who have gone above and beyond in the Campbelltown community over the past 12 months,” Mayor Dr George Greiss said.

“This is a community where people look out for each other and it’s great to recognise people who have made a difference in our city,” Dr Greiss said.

The Australia Day Awards are open in the following categories:

  • Citizen of the Year.
  • Young Citizen of the Year.
  • Senior Citizen of the Year.
  • Sports Award.
  • Community Group Initiative of the Year.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Award.
  • Environmental Citizen of the Year.

Nominees are not eligible if they do not live or work in the Campbelltown local government area, are a previous award recipient in the same category, are a recipient of Australian and Imperial Honours, are a member of the Australia Day Awards selection panel, are an elected representation (eg MPs, Councillors) or are a Campbelltown City Council staff member.

Nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards will close on Friday 6 December 2024.

The awards recipients will be announced at a civic ceremony at the Greg Percival Community Centre on Sunday 26 January 2025.
