Local writers who live, work or study in Campbelltown are encouraged to submit their entries for the 2024 Fisher’s Ghost Writing Prize.

This year’s competition invites participants to enter their short stories, narrative non-fiction memoirs, or poetry addressing the theme of ‘…connected…’.

“There is plenty of creative talent in Campbelltown and this competition is a terrific chance for residents to challenge themselves,” Mayor Dr George Greiss said.

“The Writing Prize competition has attracted outstanding entries in previous years, and it will be fantastic to see how participants tackle this year’s theme,” Dr Greiss said.

Categories include:

  • Adult
  • School students grade 4-6
  • School students grade 7-9
  • School students grade 10-12

This year’s adult category will award $300 to the winner and $100 to highly commended entries. The student category will award $100 to winners.

Campbelltown Library will also host a series of writing workshops to help entrants develop their writing before submission.

Entries are now open and close Monday 9 September at 9.30am. Winners will be announced during the 2024 Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.
