Have your say on draft Community Engagement Strategy
Published on 28 October 2022
Campbelltown residents are being encouraged to have their say on a draft Community Engagement Strategy to help drive the direction of Council’s consultation and engagement in the coming years.
The strategy aims to deliver a consistent approach to community engagement in Council’s planning for projects, events and policies as well as in the delivery of every day services.
“Every strategy, project or event that we deliver should aim to realise the ambitions of our residents and ultimately enhance the lives of the people who call Campbelltown home,” Mayor George Greiss said.
“It is important we recognise the diversity of our community and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement to people of all abilities, ages, cultural backgrounds and experiences,” Cr Greiss said.
“It’s equally as important that we report back to the community with the results of our engagement to foster trust and be transparent about the reasoning behind our decisions,” he said.
“There’s still time for people to leave their feedback and ideas to help ensure we are representing the needs of all our residents.”
The strategy identifies five key principles to underpin all of Council’s community engagement in the future including being purposeful, inclusive, authentic, transparent and responsive.
The draft Community Engagement Strategy is on public exhibition until Wednesday 9 November.
