Ingleburn Alive Revived street party reboot promises more fun
Published on 13 February 2019
Record crowds are expected at the rebooted annual Ingleburn Alive street party.
The event, renamed Ingleburn Alive Revived after a change of format and a later start time of 3pm, will feature a full programme of live music and dance acts, a roller rink, street stalls and some of the city’s hippest food trucks.
“This much-loved family festival has been refined to deliver loads of fun, action and entertainment in the heart of Ingleburn for everyone to enjoy,” said Mayor George Brticevic.
“We’ve upped the ante on top quality performers and attractions and will have a foodie experience for locals that will attract people from across the area,” Cr Brticevic said.
“It will have a new look and feel but still have that great party vibe of previous events.”
The popular outdoor event, that takes over Oxford Road and adjoining streets, will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday March 2 and lead up to a spectacular fireworks display to conclude the event.
A kids’ zone on Macquarie Road will be turned into the ultimate playground, including an outdoor roller skating rink.
Normally bustling with traffic, Nardoo Street will be astro-turfed and lined with picnic tables, wine barrels and umbrellas to create a ‘Foodie Lane’ catered to by local restaurants and food trucks.
Another zone for market traders and a fourth zone for the festival and rides will spiral out from a central stage area.
C91.3FM radio duo Bella and Christian are MC’ing the day’s performances, which will feature entertainers ranging from Bollywood dancers, rock bands and beat boxers to Japanese drumming groups and dance music*.
The stage, at the center of the festival zone, will be lowered so the audience is closer to the performers and the day will conclude at 9pm with a bang as fireworks light up the event, which for the first time will be visible from the zone on Oxford Road.
Previous festivals started at 11am, but event organisers found festival-goers were delaying their arrival to avoid the hottest part of the day.
Ingleburn Alive Revived is a family event with no alcohol of any kind permitted in the event area.
* Booked entertainment includes: Wadaiko Rindo, Dance Central, Tomatoa Entertainment, Voltak, All Star Duo, True Vibenation, The Peter McWhirter Band and Kinetic Method Duo.
