Photography and nature enthusiasts can test their skills behind the lens and capture the stunning beauty of the Macarthur region in the Macarthur Nature Photography Competition.

The competition is open to everyone in the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly areas and includes more than $3000 in prizes.

“The Macarthur region’s unique environment is home to an abundance of native plants and animals as well as fantastic bushland,” Mayor George Greiss said.

“The competition is a great opportunity for amateur or budding photographers to get outdoors and practice their skills,” Dr Greiss said.

“Each year the competition produces fantastic works from people of all ages so I encourage everyone to enter,” he said.

Competition categories include:

  • Australian Native Plants, Animals and Pollinators
  • Threatened Species
  • Caring for Country
  • People’s Choice

A panel of judges representing photography, art and local biodiversity expertise will select theme place winners and shortlist 10 images for the People’s Choice Award.

The Macarthur Nature Photography Competition is organised by Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly Councils and is supported by Narellan Town Centre.

Entries close on Friday 29 September.
