Mayor of Campbelltown, Dr George Greiss was joined and residents from the surrounding area officially opened the newly upgraded playground at Marsden Park, Campbelltown.

The $1.1 million play space features a selection of modern play equipment and new picnic shelters, BBQ areas and shade sails for residents to enjoy.

“Marsden Park is a fantastic spot for local residents to enjoy, located in the heart of our growing city where many families come to enjoy time for relaxation and play,” Mayor Dr George Greiss said.

“The variety of new play equipment, BBQ areas, seating and picnic shelters will greatly enhance the surrounding park for many years to come,” Dr Greiss said.

The upgrade project was developed based on community feedback, ensuring that the park meets the needs and expectations of local residents.

“Thank you to everyone who provided their feedback to help create this great new park, which services not just the local residents, but also the many families who are accessing the nearby hospitals,” Dr Greiss said.

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said the NSW Government’s $200,000 contribution has delivered an interactive new playground with climbing ropes, flying fox, a large basket swing and trampolines for the kids to enjoy.

“I’m sure children from across the Campbelltown region will flock to Marsden Park to check out the new facilities and relax with family and friends,” Mr Scully said.

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Places to Play program in association with Campbelltown City Council.
