Entries open for the Threatened Species Art and Writing Competition

Published on 14 June 2024

Children aged between 5 to 16 years can now submit their creative artwork or short story in the annual Threaten Species Art and Writing Competition.

The Threatened Species Art and Writing Competition celebrates the diverse animal and plant species of the Macarthur region and is open to entrants from the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly LGAs.

“This competition is a great opportunity for children to learn about the variety of plants and animals that we have in Campbelltown and the wider region,” Mayor Dr George Greiss said.

“With many talented kids across the Macarthur region, I am looking forward to seeing this year’s competition entries, which are always of fantastic quality,” Dr Greiss said.

Artworks and creative writing pieces must feature a local endangered plant or animal.

Teachers can also now access a resource kit to assist in the delivery of syllabus content or book their class into a workshop with Council’s Environmental Education Officer.

Entries close Monday 5 August.
