Noorumba Reserve

Noorumba is full of endangered native woodlands

This is an important bushland reserve on the edge of suburbia in Campbelltown's south. It protects a range of endangered habitats and wildlife, and has a good network of walking and cycling trails.

Noorumba reserve supports a range of habitats including an important area of endangered Shale-Sandstone Transition Forest and the largest stand of critically endangered Cumberland Plains Woodland within Campbelltown.

Permanent ponds and ephemeral creeks add more variety to the reserves suite of habitats which together support a wide range of wildlife. Popular inhabitants include wombats, goanna's, a variety of bird species and insects such as dragonflies and butterflies.

The reserve is also an incredibly important Aboriginal site. The name Noorumba means 'hunting ground' and many artefacts unearthed here tell of ancient foraging and hunting in the area. An extensive range of tracks and trails offer many opportunities to explore the reserve and experience its wildlife and landscapes.

We also have regular volunteer bushcare groups which helps improve the natural environment through activities such as weed management, litter removal and tree planting.
