The Woolwash

Georges River and O'Hares Creek meet in this reserve

Located at the junction of the Georges River and O’Hares Creek, this majestic riverside setting is marked by impressive sandstone boulders which overlook the site.


The Woolwash is home to a number of different bush communities, including the endangered Shade/Sandstone Transition Forest. This makes this peaceful reserve a haven for creatures big and small, including:

  • Koalas
  • Eastern False Pipistrelle
  • Greater Broad Nosed Bat
  • Little Lorikeet
  • Southern Myotis
  • Common Eastern Froglet
  • Tawny Frog Mouth
  • Brown Thornbill
  • Jacky Lizard

Hike or mountain bike along the fire trail before dipping your toes in the river for a refreshing break. Take in the spectacular views while you soak up the sunshine.
