Great Australian Dream Project
Campbelltown has a rich history of heritage architecture including Glenalvon House and the Queen Street Heritage Precinct however our city also has wonderful examples of modern styles of architecture, homes to families in the more recent past, which have not been as celebrated. As Campbelltown develops as a city it is important that we are able to capture these styles, so they are not lost and provide a collective memory for our community.
Campbelltown library is asking current and former residents to help us gather a photographic record of our suburban residential history.
We’re looking to preserve a record of as many of these 20th century era homes as possible, across all our suburbs. The project is not intended to be a heritage register but aims to be a permanent record of an important period of Campbelltown’s residential history.
If your home was built between 1919 and 1979, Campbelltown Library would like to hear from you!
What we'd love.
Photos of:
- Exterior photos of your home, as it is today or how it was while you lived there.
- Streetscapes, showing your home with its surrounding location.
- Interior photos, to show how interior design tastes have changed and developed over time.
Digital images can be uploaded using the online form.
(Need help scanning your photograph/s? Call into your nearest branch of the Campbelltown City Library Service and bring a USB or email address.)
