Return and Earn
The NSW container deposit scheme, Return and Earn is the largest litter reduction scheme introduced in NSW. Since it's commencement in December 2017, over nine billion containers have been returned, resulting in over 800,000 tonnes of material being recycled and a 54% reduction in drink container litter.
Eligible containers
Most empty 150ml to 3L beverage containers are eligible for a 10 cent refund when presented to an approved NSW collection point.
All eligible containers must be empty, uncrushed, unbroken and with the original label attached.
