Simple swaps to reduce waste in the home
Grow your own herbs to use whenever you need them.
Our Governments have set a range of targets for waste reduction at both the Federal and State levels by developing a range of strategies and policies. Our governments are also working with industry to change packaging, build critical recycling infrastructure and ensure our waste can be managed as a resource within Australia as export bans on waste items commence.
What you can do
It may seem a bit daunting, and too big a problem to make a difference as an individual. Often, people also associate waste reduction and creating less waste with giving up things, or going without. But it doesn't need to be this way.
As individuals we can all make a difference - taking small, manageable steps towards less waste all adds up. Make a change once a week, once a month, whatever works for you! If we have thousands of individuals making small changes over time and working towards a low waste lifestyle, it is much more effective than having a few people living the low waste lifestyle perfectly.
