Whether you’re a budding artist, a mini curator, or just love hands-on creativity, we’ve got two exciting workshops to choose from—or make it a full day of fun with our Creative Bundle!

Workshop 1: Little Fancy Portraits

Cost: $30

Time: 10am-12pm

Ages: 5-12

Step into a world of creativity and self-expression inspired by the vibrant and thought-provoking works of artist Marikit Santiago. In this exciting children’s workshop, participants will embark on a guided tour of Santiago’s current exhibition, immersing themselves in themes of transformation and identity. Through playful discussion and observation, they’ll learn how art can tell powerful stories about who we are and how we evolve.

Participants will construct ornate frames using cardboard and paper as the base, then embellish them with colourful craft materials including gems, glitter, ribbons, and textured paper. Using mirrors, participants will sketch and decorate self-portraits that reflect their individuality, identity, and personal transformation. Children will be encouraged to think about what makes them unique and express their thoughts visually, using colour, texture, and symbolis. This hands-on workshop is designed to inspire self-confidence, cultural appreciation, and artistic expression in a joyful and supportive setting.

Workshop 2:  Creator Curator

Cost: $30

Time 1pm -3pm

Ages: 5-12

Let your imagination soar as you design and curate your very own miniature exhibition space, inspired by the incredible works and storytelling of Marikit Santiago! This hands-on workshop invites children to step into the shoes of an artist and curator, using everyday materials to construct a unique, personalised exhibition space.

Learn about the decisions artists and curators make to bring artwork to life in an exhibition. Using cardboard, recycled boxes, and magazines, children will construct a miniature exhibition space—a gallery, a room, or even an abstract world. Explore how to arrange and curate artwork in the space, focusing on flow, interaction, and storytelling. This workshop sparks creativity, fosters an appreciation for art and design, and gives children the freedom to imagine and create their own world of art!
